This exhibition focuses on the geographical and cultural distinctiveness of place-based embodied understandings of our relationships to imperiled waterways. Through body and sound immersions, material explorations, research, documentation, participatory actions, and storytelling, the artists directly engage with the entangled history and ecology of specific water bodies. The works in the exhibition uncover histories and evidence of our human degradation of water, so intertwined with our colonial and industrial legacies, while witnessing, honoring, and drawing attention to the waters integral to our survival.
