Soon is Now presents Museum of Fishes & Greens,
Climate, Craft and Food in the Sundarbans, India
A multimedia installation of batik sari textiles, handmade paper from plants, handcrafted artist books, and three new videos. A collaborative project by Food Studio Collective, artists and curators from Kolkata, India and women from fishing and farming communities in the Sundarbans, a biodiverse fragile delta severely impacted by climate change.

We are an Upstate Art Weekend participant.

Soon is Now presents our first artist residency with Beacon based artists Andrew Brehm and Jennifer Lauren Smith. With an exhibition, public workshop and performance evening.

This project is part of UPSTATE ART WEEKEND, July 17-21

Open hours Thursday July 17 - Monday July 21 11am-5pm. Reception: July 19, 5-6:30pm with a performance at 6:30pm in conjunction with the Goudy Wildlife Club. At The River Center, 8 Long Dock Road, Scenic Hudson’s Long Dock Park, Beacon, NY.

TINKUY is a sonic journey through Earth's evolution, reflecting a time when humanity has deeply interfered with the planet's balance. Koyoltzintli’s handmade ceramic sound objects, meticulously reconstructed based on pre-Columbian sonic artifacts, are featured in an exhibition that emerges from a live performance of the same title. A video installation of the performance is on view with her ceramics and other works.

The artist is offering a class for adults and youth 16 and up : Clay Instrument Making on June 28th from 10-1pm in Beacon, NY. Registration details here.
